Achievement/ Outcomes

Updation of Administrative infrastructure

The College office was expanded and refurnished with modern facilities for providing better service to students

Addition of new examination facilities

A new examination hall was constructed above the college library building for the conduct of examinations without affectiong the regular classes.

Introduction of Banking facility inside the campus

An ATM facility was made available in the campus by South Indian bank for the benifit of staff, students and local community

Introduce and familiarise the college, its working and curriculum to the first year students and their parents

This practice is prevailing in the college since past few years. This year also an orientation programme was organised for the newly joined students and their parents. The programme was organised on 26/06/2019. The speaker was Mr. Babu Pallipat, Career Expert, Section Officer, M.G. University. 260 students and 119 parents benefitted from the programme. The curriculum was introduced to the students department wise

Cent Percent computer literacy to all students and faculty members

The aim to achieve computer literacy for all was achieved by this year. The Department of Computer Science chalked out a plan to offer basic computer skills through Google Classroom Environment and supporting videos to the students and faculty members who were lagging in this area.

Promotion of research culture

a) IQAC encouraged the faculty members to register for PH.D programme and to apply for

various research projects

i) 3 Faculty members applied for Ph.D and 2 Faculty members were awarded Ph.D this year.

Also research scholars started doing research under 3 Faculty members of the college. .

ii) Dr. Resmi R of Department of commerce was sanctioned a Minor Research Project under the

IMPRESS Scheme of ICSSR.

iii) 2 Faculty members published research articles in indexed journals.

b) IQAC urged the departments to organised research oriented workshops and FDPs. As a result

3 programmes were conducted in this area.

i) Two day orientation programme on 'Software for Business and Research

ii) Webinar Series on Social Science Research

iii) One Day National Webinar on How to write Research papers

Inculcation of Entrepreneurial and Innovation Culture and Knowledge regarding IPR and Start-ups among faculty members and students For this it is planned to organise Workshops/ Interactive sessions/Field Visits etc

IQAC support the entrepreneurial and innovative activities organised by the Institution

Innovation Council and Entrepreneurial Development Club of the College. Also IQAC applied

for the establishment of IEDC (Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre) of Kerala

Start –up Mission in our college. The IIC and E D Club of the college organised the following

programmes in the year 2019-2020.

 a) One day workshop on “ Entrepreneurship and Innovation as Career Opportunity”

b) Meet the Entrepreneur – Eldhose P.J, Varsha Plastics and Varsha Holidays

c) Product Design Workshop

d) Workshop on National Innovation and Start up Policy

e) Field Visit to Ambadimala Water Supply project, A CSR initiative of Cochin Shipyard

f) Industrial Visits to MILMA, BSNL Munnar.

g) Organised Impact Lecture Series on online mode funded by MHRD Institution Innovation

h) Attended the online sessions organised by MHRD Institution Council as Motivational Speech.

Total 17 Sessions was attended by teachers and students. Those who completed the e assessment

were awarded e – certificates by the MHRD’s Institution Innovation Council.

 

Upgradation of Campus network infrastructure.

The campus network was updated and all the departments were provided separate connectivity through Fibre Network.

Training for faculty members to cope with the change in curriculum

In order to create an awareness regarding natural resources, environmental aspects and legislations involved and also to provide awareness on Human Rights, these two aspects were introduced in the U G Syllabus. Training sessions was organised to equip the teachers to handle these subjects. a) Faculty Development Programme on Environmental Studies and Human Rights b) Faculty Enrichment Programme on Human Rights

To make the college and surroundings sustainable.

a) Applied for Solar Power Plant under the Soura Subsidy Scheme b) Leafy Greeny Initiative c) Organic farming initiative d) Waste Disposal

Orientation Programme for Criterion Heads and freshers

Seperate workshops were conducted for NAAC Criterion wise coordinators and newly apointed staff.

Introduction of new value added courses and certificate courses

More students joined for SWAYAM courses

Provide training to faculty on OBE

5 Faculty members were selected as internal trainers and they were provided training from KSHEC

Revise the stakeholder feedback forms

All the 5 stake holder feedback forms revised

Ethernet backbone was replaced by optic fiber cables.
