Bhaumika believes that environmental education is a life long pro-cess that encourages exploring, raising questions, investigating issues and seeking solutions to environmental and social problems. This Club seeks to create awareness on environmental issues through its activities. Students are encouraged to take membership in the Nature Club. They are provided opportunities to study and admire the environment and thereby understand the need to conserve nature’s bounty. There is a Medicinal Garden with 60 types of medicinal plants.

Organic Farming System in India is not new and is being followed from ancient times. It is a method of farming system which primarily aimed at cultivating the land and raising crops in such a way, as to keep the soil alive and in good health by use of organic wastes (crop, animal and farm wastes, aquatic wastes) and other biological materials along with beneficial microbes (biofertilizers) to release nutrients to crops for increased sustainable production in an eco friendly pollution free environment. Students can learn the art and science of making compost at the Compost Facility. Student-designed composting tunnels rapidly turn farm waste into compost for fertilizing the fields and orchards.

The blood donors’ club is an initiative taken by Youth Red cross Society student volunteers of Sree Sankara Vidyapeetom College of arts and science with a view to save precious lives of people by donating blood to needy patients absolutely free. The club encourages students to donate blood regularly. A list of voluntary donors with their blood group is maintained by this club, which is very useful during any medical emergency. The objective to help people in and around Ernakulam, round the clock and all days of the year is realized through our policy of ANY GROUP / ANY WHERE / ANY TIME.

Tourism club effectively functioning in the college and the club conducts seminars and talks on the relevance of Tourism in Kerala. Various activities of this club impress the younger and upcoming generation, the importance of tourism in their career and there by generate a positive attitude towards tourism.

Yoga originated in India several thousands of years back, and this system of self-development has acquired immense popularity in recent years. The ultimate goal of yoga is to help the individual to transcend the self and attain enlightenment. Bhagavad-Gita says, “A person is said to have achieved yoga, the union with the Self, when the perfectly disciplined mind gets freedom from all desires, and becomes absorbed in the Self” Our College has having a Yoga club, functioning under the Department of Physical Education, which conducts regular Yoga classes to students and staff alike. We are passionate about creating a community for anyone interested in yoga, mind-body activities, meditation, and reducing stress.

A. To provide any Students of the SSV College wishing to play chess with a forum in which to do so.
B. To teach basic understanding of the rules of chess, for beginning players, as well as critical analysis of the tactics of the game for more advanced players.
C. To facilitate the exchange of information among chess-playing students and staff of SSV College so that anyone wishing to do so may find an opponent to play and to improve their skills.

Vimukthi Mission is a mass campaign programme to promote awareness against alcoholism and drug abuse. It is a Kerala State Mission for De-addiction. It is being organized with the support of anti-drug clubs in schools and colleges. Addiction free Kerala is the aim of this mission. Vimukthi club of this college is a part of this state wide campaign. Club will conduct different activities to make our students aware of the evils of drug addiction and alcoholism.
