National Service Scheme – popularly known as “NSS” is a scheme launched by the then Union Education Minister Dr. V.K.R.V. Rao in the year 1969. It is a permanent youth program under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and is supported by Government of India. Objective of the scheme is evelopment of students’ personality through community service and its motto is “Not Me But You”. It upholds the need for selfless service and also consideration for fellow human beings.
