Our faculty are extremely student friendly, diligent and approachable. This added advantage helps students use the resources at their disposal in the best manner possible.
Department is equipped with a library of around 800+ books and journals making it handy for students’ quick referencing. We also have IT facilities for the students to use.
HINDI ASSOCIATION
For a pleasant student-teacher relationship, we, at the Department of Hindi organize bimonthly meetings with the students in a casual setting in the campus. This Association of the department is a healthy bonding time for students and an opportunity for social networking. It also doubles as a cultural mixer during the festive season and college fests. We also organise yearly excursions.
Apart from this, we also celebrate Hindi day on September 14th every year, which usually pans out over the week and the students participate in various intellectually stimulating exercises like quiz, creative and essay writing.
Our students are our ambassadors. We strive to provide the absolute best for them so that they can take steps towards their life and career goals. For this we have a well established ‘tutor system’ wherein each student is assigned a faculty who can help them one to one to glide through the stress of academics and a college life. We also conduct a bridge course for students to ease into their chosen courses and regular PTA meetings to update their parents on the student’s progress. We take pride in our student catered teaching programme wherein we pay special attention to each learner’s abilities and academic requirements and provide appropriate intellectual solutions.
ALUMNI
Right from its inception, the Hindi alumni association has been indispensable part of the department’s growth, functioning and development. It is a pleasure to see our students in all walks of life meet and work towards a common goal that directly helps the department. Every year the alumni association meets to strengthen connections and plan various activities for the same.
SOCIAL COMMITMENTS
As part of our social commitments and in our humble attempt to give back to the society, we organize several activities including teaching communicative Hindi to natives and conducting translation classes in schools. We have a faculty-initiated cloud fund for emergency financial assistance of economically backward students. To develop and nurture emotional intelligence and such, we regularly encourage our students to visit orphanages and old age homes. As teachers, the responsibility of contributing to the society by inspiring our students to be wholesome human beings is always our priority.
GOALS
Right from the beginning, we have been aiming for outstanding academic goals with our students at the forefront. As an ever-evolving department, our long-term goals include starting a dedicated research centre to encourage our students to contribute to the existing literature. We hope to be a small spark that ignites the curiosity in budding researchers and bridge the gap between the known and yet to be known.
