Sri. P.N. Namboothiri was born in 1917 at Peringaragrama, a village near Thiruvalla in Pathanamthitta Dist. of Kerala. Sri. P.N devoted his whole life for the upliftment of the society was a well-known Gandhian and freedom fighter. He served as the president of PeringaragramaPanchayath and as a member of Thiruvalla municipal council. He was a lifelong member and chairman of the BharathSevakSamajam, Kerala chapter.
The only factor behind the establishment of Sree Sankara Vidhyapeetom College, Valayanchirangara was the far sightedness and efficient leadership of Sri. P.N. As he understood the necessity of the presence of the Namboothiri community in the field of education, he founded the Sree Sankara Trust. Today the trust has three colleges, schools and several other cultural institutions. Sri. P.N who had been the secretary and chairman of the trust on several occasions was also its lifelong patron and active member.
The new leadership of the trust is moving towards the fulfillment of the dreams P.N had. Sri. P.N wanted to have a hospital, a vocational trading centre and an old age home under the leadership of the trust.
The trust had published a book in memory of Sri. P.N. Namboothiri in the name “Thilodakam”.
